Part 1: choose a subject. Can be a mentor, family member, teacher coach, stranger. This person must be either older or younger than you. At least 8 years older or five years younger. Part 2: Get to know your subject. Interview that person in order to decide how you want to depict them in a portrait. Part 3: Photographing your subject. Shoot your subject in different lighting situations, with different frames, in different settings. One MUST be studio/controlled lighting and one MUST be natural light.
